About the role
We currently have a vacancy for an Accounting Specialist to join our team at Trieste.
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with a strong background in accounts payable management and solid, specific expertise in VAT.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic finance team - comprising the Finance Manager and five colleagues - and will take full ownership of the accounts payable cycle, ensuring independent management and strict compliance with tax regulations.
Key duties:
Receiving, registering and checking supplier invoices (domestic, EU and non-EU)
Verifying the correct application of VAT rates and tax obligations (e.g. reverse charge, split payment)
Managing of VAT registers
Preparing monthly/quarterly VAT returns ((LIPE) and assisting with the completion of tax returns
Reconciling supplier accounts
Supporting external consultant for Yearly VAT declaration
Preparing INTRASTAT and Esterometro (report data on cross-border transactions)
Managing Intent letters
About you
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated professional with a solid educational background - ideally holding a bachelor’s degree in a related field - and 3 to 5 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist within an international environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation and mediation skills, combined with a deep understanding of Italian accounting regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office tools and Accounting Information Systems is essential, as is fluency in English.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be considered a strong advantage, while knowledge of free port areas would be a valuable plus.
